   Yeah, I’ve always wondered that. I mean, you aren’t really unique if you can get a label stuck on you other than trendsetter.

   But if you want to dress emo/scene just because you like it, I’m cool with that. I just don’t like it when people preach how individual they are when they do it.

   I totally understand, these girls copy other scene girls from the internet so thats not being unique. I truthfully feel that being unique comes from the inside, your personality!

   well over here in the UK, some girls just try and copy everyone and follow the trends..only really 13/14/15 yr olds though. most people when they dress ‘emo’ or ‘scene’ aren’t trying to be anything, they just want to dress in a way that expresses their personality, the music they listen to and what their interests are.

   I think that the girls who dress that way but still have that of “preppy” kind of personality an are happy most times only do it to get attention. But in other ways, it is coming into fashion to dress like that. And some girls might be trying to empress someone or trying too be noticed, but their reason is their own

   ‘ oh look at me i’m so unique (bit extreme but yeah), oh look here’s my best mate and my boyfriend wearing the same stuff as me and nearly the same haircut!!! we’re so unique right!’

   hate it.

   I agree. I see just as many skaters as preps.
   I do TRY to dress different, but its always hard to when everyone always shops at the same stores.
